Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, widely known as 'Prachanda,' has expressed his disapproval of the tradition of demanding the resignation of high-ranking officials, including the Prime Minister, Minister for Home Affairs, and Minister for Finance, for political reasons.

Speaking at a press meet upon his return from Italy at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, PM Dahal stated that such practices were not beneficial for the country's political climate.

He specifically mentioned the recent obstruction in parliament by the major opposition, where they demanded the resignation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. PM Dahal asserted that this unilateral call for resignation without allowing the concerned ministers an opportunity to provide clarifications was not a constructive approach.

PM Dahal assured that he would discuss the matter further with the Deputy Prime Minister and other ministers involved before offering a more detailed response. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and communication in resolving political issues rather than resorting to demands for immediate resignations.

During his participation in the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization from June 24 to July 28, PM Dahal represented Nepal and highlighted the significance of the event. He viewed Nepal's active involvement in the summit as an opportunity to establish the country's presence and status in the international community.

On a separate note, PM Dahal addressed the government's efforts to combat the rapid spread of the lumpy skin disease affecting cattle. He disclosed that millions of cattle had received vaccinations to control the viral disease, showing the government's commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the livestock sector.
